VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY, ST. AUGUSTINE, ROOM 110

MEETING STARTS - 09:30 -- NOVEMBER 12th

UPCOMING MEETING

MAIN MEETING TOPIC: ROUNDTABLE: SOCIAL NETWORKS

I was asked recently by one of our members what all the hoopla was about as it relates to social networks on the Internet. The question was more like a request for a meeting presentation on the subject.

At the steering meeting we wondered how best to present this topic and whether there was enough content for a worthwhile presentation, especially since no one on the steering committee has had much experience with social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. So, we figured we would run an extended round table discussion on this topic and see what came of it. We hope to elicit some thoughts and comments from all meeting attendees.

Are you aware that every club member is a member of at least one Internet social network and that is the club email system and indirectly a member of Google Groups. Beyond that, some members may be sharing other information like pictures, videos, blogs, etc. through websites that host such activities and are therefore a member of an Internet social network without maybe realizing it.

As much as we can, we'll spend some time talking about the big social networks like FB, Twitter, & Google+. We'll try to cover the pros & cons of joining these networks.
