Now you can watch your friends play with the new Spectator mode in TFT.

Teamfight Tactics keeps pushing its creative bounds with the newest set, Remix Rumble. Renowned bands such as K/DA, True Damage, and Pentakill are here to rock the stage, accompanied by HEARTSTEEL and other emerging sub-groups.

In 2023, TFT has had quite a few pragmatic updates in gameplay. We have seen regional portals, the traits and augments accompanying those, and brand-new Headliners. The game has evolved far enough to hit the complexity ceiling.

While the game continues to be increasingly polished, there are some non-gameplay issues that Riot also plans to address. Not too long ago, they overhauled the traditional display name with a singular Riot ID system. This time, they are enabling a client feature to the TFT. Although, the veteran League of Legends players are quite familiar with it.

In this article, I will talk about the upcoming Spectator mode in TFT.

Spectate your friend’s match in TFT

Spectator mode is basically an option you see when you right-click on your friend’s name in the friend list of the client. There is a menu that pops up where you can see “Spectate Game.” Clicking that would open a new window with a loading screen of that match. Soon after, you will see the Summoner’s Rift from the 3rd Person POV.

Due to budget constraints, TFT did not get the spectator mode. Although it’s in the same client, TFT has different map and backend operations. That’s why they pushed it below in the priority list.

However, the nearly 5 year long wait is over as Spectator mode is finally coming to TFT in patch 14.1, as season 2023 kicks in. Before that, however, this will be available in PBE with the new season patch, ready to be deployed on December 6, 2023.

With this, you can spectate your friends’ matches with a 3-minute standard delay. Having a built-in spectator mode saves the trouble of having to use Discord or 3rd party streaming software.

Overall, this is a great QoL improvement intended to enhance your TFT experience.
