However, like all television series, Arcane will end with Season 2 as Riot affirms that Arcane is the first of many stories to come from Runeterra.

Arcane Ends With Season 2

Riot has confirmed that Arcane is ending with Season 2 as they had a specific ending in mind. The new sneak peeks and trailer show how the conflict between Zaun and Piltover is at the forefront of it all. As to how the season will wrap up is pretty much guesswork at this point.

However, since Riot has said that Season 2 will be the last and will have a specific ending, this could transition us to the other regions. I am certainly very eager to see how all of this pans out.

According to a recent Deadline report, a live-action Watch Dogs movie is reportedly in development and already started filming. Yariv Milchan, Natalie Lehmann, and Margaret Boykin will produce the movie at New Regency Pictures with Ubisoft Film & Television. New Regency also made the Assassin’s Creed movie, starring Michael Fassbender in 2016, which was Ubisoft’s previous major franchise adaption.

The Watch Dogs movie was first announced ten years ago, with writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese of Zombieland coming on board to write the script. Wernick and Reese’s version of the script was meant to be a direct adaption of the first game featuring Aiden Pearce as the protagonist. However, the new script for the movie has been written by Christie Leblanc and will be directed by acclaimed French director Mathieu Turi.

Sophie Wilde To Star In The Watch Dogs Film

As per Deadline’s report, actress Sophie Wilde is in talks to join the Watch Dogs movie as her next big role. Wilde received worldwide praise after her breakout performance for her role in A24’s horror movie Talk To Me in 2023.

Neither Ubisoft nor New Regency have revealed the plot details for the upcoming movie, but Deadline’s report suggests that the film will be set “within the universe of Ubisoft’s blockbuster video game franchise.”

However, Ubisoft has released three Watch Dogs titles to date. Each game takes place in a fictionalized version of a real city, all following different hacker protagonists who eventually become involved in the criminal underworld.

Twitch has been fined 435 million won or $327,00 by Korea for suspending the video-on-demand (VOD) service in the country in 2023. The Korea Telecommunications Commission (KCC) concluded that the VOD service suspension violated the local telecommunications business law by undermining user interests.

Twitch Interactive, the service operator, reduced the live stream video quality from 1080p to 720p in September 2022 and terminated the VOD service five months later in South Korea. To determine whether Twitch had legitimate reasons for restricting the highest viewing quality, the Korean Telecommunications Commission requested relevant data. However, Twitch declined the KCC’s request, citing contract confidentiality obligations.

Twitch Fined By The Korean Telecommunications Commission

According to the South Korean media portal Yonhap, the Korean Telecommunications Commission slapped a fine of 435 million won ($327,000) on Friday, stating that Twitch violated the local telecommunications business law after suspending the VOD services. The KCC also imposed another fine of 15 million won on Twitch for failing to implement the system to prevent the distribution of illegal footage.

Twitch stated that the suspension was necessary for businesses to keep offering the service in Korea. Still, the commission rejected this argument, stating that live streaming and video-on-demand services are not independent telecommunications services.

The KCC has mandated that Twitch disclose the receipt of these orders and take preventative action before resuming business operations in Korea as part of the corrective measures.

In December 2023, Twitch announced that the company would end service in South Korea because operating there is expensive. CEO Dan Clancy said that operations in Twitch in South Korea are incredibly high, and the company will stop service in Korea on February 27, 2024.

Streamers who selected Korea as their onboarding country will no longer be able to monetize through Twitch. In addition, Twitch users in South Korea can no longer purchase any content on the platform. Content creators who selected Korea as their country of residence will receive their final payout in March 2024.

The Turkish government has banned Twitch and Kick over gambling content concerns. A few days ago, the Information and Communication Technologies Authority(ICTA) issued a nationwide ban on Kick. The authority was under the impression that Kick would influence the youth of the country to play roulette and promote gambling.

After broadcasters on Kick pointed out similar content being streamed on the Twitch platform, the ICTA launched an investigation into the platform. Two days after the nationwide ban on Kick, the government also banned Twitch, and that access to the site would be cut off. The decision angered the Twitch community in Turkey, mainly because viewers and some content creators had strong feelings against gambling content for a long time.

Turkey Banned Twitch and Kick Nationwide

In February 2024, Turkish journalist Ibrahim Haskoloğlu first reported the ICTA’s concerns over Kick’s operations within the country. According to the officials, Kick was not just a platform for streaming but a Trojan horse for international gambling companies to target the youth in Turkey. The ICTA launched the investigation on February 13, 2024, and properly inspected the platform’s associations and content.

On February 21, Haskoloğlu confirmed that the government of Turkey had issued a nationwide ban on Kick, shocking content creators and viewers across the country.

After Kick was banned within the country, the viewers and content creators of the website raised an issue that the Amazon-owned platform Twitch also broadcasted similar content. The Information and Communication Technologies Authority of Turkey launched another investigation on Twitch after taking in the problems from the Kick community.

Two days after Kick got banned in the country, the ICTA issued a ban on Twitch and announced that access to the website would be closed within 24 hours. Journalist Ibrahim Haskoloğlu tweeted the information from BTK’s website, which stated that the General Directorate of National Lottery Administration decided to block Twitch in the country.

Popular streamer and content creator Imane’ Pokimane’ Anys has confirmed she is leaving Twitch after a decade of streaming on the platform. Pokimane started streaming on Twitch in 2023 as a League of Legends streamer and quickly became one of the most popular streamers on the Amazon-owned platform. She became the most followed female streamer on Twitch, boasting almost 9.3 million followers on the site.

Pokimane also co-founded the content creator group OfflineTV with another popular streamer, William “Scarra” Li, which she left in 2023 to balance her work and personal life. She was one of the first big streamers to jump on Fortnite in 2018 and was a part of Among Us’ massive success in late 2020.

Earlier today, Pokimane announced that she will be leaving Twitch after being one of the faces of the streaming platform.

Pokimane Announces Her Departure From Twitch

On January 30, 2024, Pokimane announced on the social media platform Twitter/X that she was leaving Twitc, with a screenshot of the Twitch app from Apple’s App Store. However, she did not announce whether she was moving from Twitch to another platform.

Following Pokimane’s announcement, Twitch responded to the streamer’s tweet with their statement.

Pokimane is not the only streamer to leave Twitch recently, as many other streamers have left the platform. After leaving Twitch, massive streamers like Tfue, MoistCr1tikal, Amouranth, and xQc have moved on to Kick and YouTube.

Many top streamers have left Twitch because other platforms like YouTube and Kick offered much better exclusive deals. Especially, Kick became notorious for offering creators 95% of their subscription revenue and big money deals to other streamers. Kick’s revenue split was so lucrative over Twitch’s 50-50 split that many small and big streamers moved on to the Stake-owned streaming platform.

In September 2022, Pokimane said that Twitch was not “creatively fulfilling” anymore and decided that she was planning to stream less and focus on other platforms. Moreover, she has been more active on other social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

First Looks at Arcane Season 2

Arcane Season One was all about building up the baseline for the meat of the story. Hence, some familiar faces like Singed, and Viktor looked more premature than we had grown accustomed to seeing in the game. For example, Singed did not look as ‘modified’ in the show as he did in the game.

Well, now in the first looks of Arcane s2, we can see the iconic bandage covering the bottom half of his face with the same grim, dead-looking stares.

Now onto the main dish, Warwick! Ever since we saw Vander in the first season, many hardcore fans could see the potential of him being later augmented into Warwick due to some baseline resemblance in the physique. Not to mention, Singed took Vander in his lab where we could see his arm becoming more animal-like, a clear hint of him turning into Warwick.

In the latest Tencent Video V Vision Conference in China, Riot revealed the release window for Arcane Season Two. Though when it will exactly be released is still unknown.

But according to some translations, it will be released in Q4 of 2024. Therefore, we can expect Arcane Season Two to come out sometime in November of 2024. A few translations also suggest that the release window will be in the Winter of 2024, which is only a few months away. But it is highly unlikely that Riot markets Season Two only a few months before its release.

But according to some sources, xQc just signed a 2-year $200M deal with the new streaming platform Kick. xQc has been hinting at some sort of affiliation with Kick for some time now. First, he leaked his Twitter DM’s hinting at his plan to stream on Kick. Then he leaked his ChatGPT question history, which again hinted at him having something to do with Kick.

The news about the xQc Multimillion-dollar deal comes from Jake Lucky on Twitter. In a recent Twitter post, Jake wrote,

“Twitch streamer xQc has signed a record breaking $100 million, 2 year non exclusive deal with Kick… Per @Kellen_Browning WTF”

So, According to Jake Lucky’s Tweet, xQc’s Kick Deal originally comes from Kelen Browning.

xQc’s Kick deal is nonexclusive, meaning he can still stream on other platforms even after signing up to Kick. But, despite the non-exclusivity, xQc will probably stream more on Kick than Twitch.

The news about xQc’s Kick deal had a lot of positive impact on Kick itself. According to some sources, apparently, more than 650,000 people signed up for Kick accounts after hearing about xQc’s Kick Deal.
