Are you planning to create a new Arisen? Before you do that, hear me out, as height and weight matter in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
One aspect that has really caught my attention is just how much the Character Creator allows you to customize not just the looks, but the actual builds of your characters. People have already made some mind-blowing creations — iconic characters, elven Nick Furys, and overly deformed monstrosities. It begs the question — does the height and weight you give your character actually matter in terms of gameplay in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Height Advantages and Disadvantages
The character creator in Dragon’s Dogma 2 allows you to completely adjust your Arisen’s height, offering unique advantages and drawbacks.
Height Impact:
- Taller characters have faster jogging speed
- Taller characters have longer weapon reach
- Shorter characters have smaller hit boxes
- Shorter characters can move between monster’s legs
- Shorter characters can enter tight spaces like goblin holes
Limb Length Impact:
- Longer arms increase weapon reach
- Longer legs increase run speed
As you can see, there are great advantages on both sides. The faster travel speed for taller characters will be hugely beneficial when traversing the open world. Plus, taking down giant enemies will be easier with those long-reaching weapons. On the other hand, being small and nimble lets you avoid attacks and access hidden areas.
Weight and Stamina Management
But height isn’t the only factor — your overall weight and build also come into play, impacting your stamina management and carrying capacity.
Weight Impact:
- Heavier characters have slower stamina regeneration
- Heavier characters have reduced stamina usage
- Heavier characters have increased inventory weight capacity
- Heavier characters move faster in heavy armor
- Lighter characters have faster stamina regeneration
- Lighter characters have higher stamina usage
- Lighter characters have reduced inventory capacity
The size and build you select for your character provides specific advantages and disadvantages that impact combat, mobility, stamina management, and even exploration/environmental interaction. That’s why you must choose the right physique according to your preferred play style.
My Opinion
When you make your character, think about your play style: how you want to play, and which class you want to pick. For instance, if you like to fight close combat with a Warrior or Fighter, you want a tall and strong character. But if you want to keep a distance between you and your foes, like a Ranger or Mage, you should choose a smaller, more agile character.
In Dragon’s Dogma 2, remember that size matters – but it’s up to you to decide how it shapes your adventure.
