League of Legends is getting a new mage item, Blackfire Torch, in patch 14.10.
MSI 2024 is underway and the mid-season patch is just around the corner, and ahead of Split 2, Riot has revealed multiple new changes for the Summoner’s Rift. While multiple items are getting removed, Riot has added a new League of Legends mage item, Blackfire Torch.

Blackfire Torch
- Ability Haste: 25
- Ability Power: 90
- Mana: 600
- Passive – Baleful Blaze: Ability damage causes enemies to burn for 20 +4% AP magic damage per second for 3s, increased by 20 per second to monsters
- Passive – Blackfire: For each champion, and epic/large monster affected by Baleful Blaze, gain 4% AP
- “The Black Mist needs a flame of equal pitch.”
Recipe: Lost Chapter + Fated Ashes + 700g = 2800g
Blackfire Torch seems to be a replacement for the previously removed Demonic Embrace, but better. With its new passive — Blackfire that burns monsters, it should open a whole array of mage champions to jungle more efficiently. Baleful Blaze passive and its 600 mana will also be very useful for mid-lane champions.
Baleful Blaze along with other new items should go live on League of Legends patch 14.10, scheduled for May 15, 2024.
