We discuss the Ultimate Samira skin and judge whether it’s worth it.
Ever since the Summer Event was announced for League of Legends, the hype was building. I am sure you all were excited to see what we are going to see. Since then, Riot has announced what Patch 13.14 will be bringing.
The event will come with the latest champion, Naafiri, and the Soul Fighter skins. Also, we will get the Arena game mode, which is getting a lot of positive reviews in PBE. There are a lot of interesting things coming as Riot has committed to the theme of their events thus far this year.
However, there is a bit of controversy with the Soul Fighter skin line. Samira was receiving a skin and was expected to be a Legendary skin. In rumors, it was said to be of Legendary+ Tier, a new class of skins Riot was working on. Since then, Riot decided to promote Samira to an Ultimate skin.
That followed with some excitement, but that died down after the skin was revealed. Fans and players were not pleased with what they saw. So with all that said, let’s talk about the Ultimate Soul Fighter Samira Skin.

The New Ultimate Skin
Let’s start with talking about the skin in itself. Riot revealed the Samira skin, as it was leaked a while back that it will be an Ultimate Skin now. Riot Sirhaian revealed all the VFX effects of Soul Fighter Samira.
In terms of the skin, it has multiple Legendary effects that include a Pentakill animation. The Style Meter HUD is nice, the skin animations are nice, and extra taunts are great. However, in most people’s comments, this skin is not better than many of the Legendary skins in the past.
Thus, majority of the opinions point out that the Samira skin is not really an Ultimate Skin.
Community Outrage
The comments from players have ranged from positive criticism to outrage. As per reasonable comments, we have seen posts such as these.
This is a pretty reasonable take considering how Riot has emphasized skins. Their Legendary skins have gotten a lot better, and that causes a problem overall. However, Samira is not a Legendary skin, but it is neither an Ultimate skin. Then, there are tweets like this.
Drututt wraps it up pretty well. The problem with the skin is not how it looks per se. It’s more about the price attached to the skin and how it does really have what an Ultimate skin should have. Then, there are Reddit threads, such as the one below.
All of these just show how frustrated fans are about Soul Fighter Samira. Now let’s talk about whether the skin is worth it.
Is It Worth It?
In short, the skin is not worth the 3250 RP price tag. The skin has a lot of good things working for it, like the looks, animations, and so on. However, it simply does not cross that Ultimate tier barrier for most people.
This is why this skin should have been something like a Legendary+ skin. Something that is above the Legendary tier but does not reach the Ultimate category. So, it is definitely not worth the tag right now.
