Respawn introduced a new tier of Legend skins with the introduction of Bloodhound’s Apex Hunter Prestige skin.
Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game based in the same universe as the Titanfall franchise. Despite facing intense competition from PUBG and Fortnite, Respawn managed to make a name for itself in the popular battle royale genre with Apex without any marketing.
Respawn successfully merged their world-class first-person shooter mechanics with hero-based abilities to near perfection. They became a household name in this genre and quickly garnered a massive concurrent player base.
Like other games in the same genre, Respawn took the free-to-play model to monetize their first foray into the battle royale market. It turned out to be a great decision, as it meant this game had no barrier to entry.
Although players can purchase battle passes, skins, emotes, and more to customize their play sessions, the game only offered character skins up to legendary rarity.

“Apex Hunter” Prestige Skin
With the introduction of season 12, Respawn has decided to up the ante and add another tier of character skin called the “Prestige” edition. Unlike other legendary skins, the prestige edition skins will have multiple stages unlocked by dealing a specific amount of damage.
To reach stage 2, players would have to deal over 30k damage, and stage 3 requires players to deal a cumulative 100k damage after acquiring the skin.
In that sense, Apex Hunter is similar to the legendary reactive weapon skins available to Battle Pass owners.
The design team at Respawn seems to have gone all out with this skin, with custom animated effects and exclusive finishers. This skin gave Bloodhound a Terminator makeover.
Bloodhound Prestige Skin Price
The Bloodhound Prestige skin is priced similarly to any other Heirloom in the game. The skin could be obtained by collecting all 24 items from the 2022 Anniversary Collection Event, which cost roughly $168. It also unlock the skin with 150 Heirloom Shards.
