Mojang and Microsoft are reportedly working to release Minecraft natively for the current generation PlayStation console.

According to PlayStation Game Size on Twitter, Minecraft will be released natively for PlayStation 5. The Twitter account searches Sony’s console store’s backend to reveal game information ahead of its release. PlayStation Game Size posted Minecraft’s official art with the caption “PS5 Version” with a green check mark, confirming the game’s arrival on Sony’s latest consoles.

Thanks to backward compatibility, only the PlayStation 4 version of Minecraft can be played on the PlayStation 5. Although users have been waiting for an optimized current-generation version for a while, the Xbox version of Minecraft was recently updated to support 4K resolution.

It is unknown what kind of changes could be coming to Minecraft on the PlayStation 5 version, but ray-tracing could be one of the biggest updates that could be coming to the console. In addition, the game could natively support 120 frames per second of gameplay on the PlayStation 5 version. Some fans also hope that the PS5 version of Minecraft will also support PlayStation VR2.

Mojang warned players not to update Minecraft through the Xbox app on PC as it could make their worlds disappear.

Minecraft’s latest update dropped earlier this week, but many PC players are losing their worlds. Developer Mojang warned that users who update Minecraft through the PC Xbox app risk erasing their worlds. The developer recommends running the Gaming Services Repair Tool on the Xbox App for PC before downloading the latest Minecraft update.

Do not download the recent update for Minecraft through the Xbox app for PC. If you do, your worlds may be lost. We’re continuing to investigate this world loss issue and are currently blocking the update from Windows to prevent the possibility of lost worlds.

Mojang later instructed how to run the Gaming Services Repair Tool for PC in the Xbox app on PC before installing the Minecraft update. Here is how to run the Gaming Services Repair Tool on a PC:

  • Launch the Xbox App on PC
  • Click your Profile Picture
  • Click on Support
  • Click on Gaming Services Repair Tool
  • Click on Start Troubleshooting

Minecraft players on PC should use the Xbox app to manage updates as it can sometimes auto-update the game. Players should adjust the settings to stop Minecraft from auto-updating so they do not risk losing their worlds.

Are you looking for the Best Shader Mods for Minecraft? If yes, let’s look at some of the best shader mods that will enhance your gameplay.

Have you ever felt that the blocky, pixelated graphics of Minecraft just don’t do your epic creations justice? Installing shader mods can take your Minecraft visuals to the next level. Shader packs overhaul the lighting, textures, water effects, and more to make the game look incredibly realistic, vibrant, or stylized.

You’ve likely seen stunning screenshots online of Minecraft worlds enhanced by shaders. The beautiful sunbeams, soft waving grass, reflective water, and atmospheric effects create scenery that looks like a high fidelity video game or animated movie. Well, now you can experience this too!

Before that, what are Shader mods? Shader mods, commonly called shader packs, are graphics packages that deeply customize how lighting, shadows, water, clouds, foliage, and more are rendered in Minecraft. While texture packs replace textures, shaders transform the very way Minecraft renders its graphics, using advanced effects like ray tracing, global illumination, depth of field, and volumetric lighting.

With the right shader pack, you can utterly revolutionize the look of your Minecraft world. The lighting changes throughout the day-night cycle in realistic ways, objects properly cast shadows, water can look crystal clear, and environments feel immersive and alive. Installing and configuring shader packs lets you tap into graphical capabilities far beyond vanilla Minecraft.

This ultimate guide will cover the most popular shader packs in 2024 for Minecraft and explain how to install them. I’ll provide pros and cons for each pack and help you choose the right graphics overhaul for your taste and PC setup. You’ll learn how to breathe new visual life into your blocky Minecraft worlds.

Best Shader Mods for Minecraft

14. Naelego’s Cel Shaders

Naelego's Cel Shaders from Minecraft

For something completely different, Naelego’s Cel Shaders transform Minecraft with a cool cartoon art style. This pack uses cel shading techniques to make everything vibrant and stylized.

You get neat comic book-esque outlines around models along with strong colors reminiscent of Borderlands. The exaggerated shading really makes the blocky Minecraft aesthetic pop in new ways. It feels like a modern computer game adaptation of a retro cartoon.

Performance is also great with Naelego’s Cel Shaders, so you don’t need top hardware to enjoy the artistic new graphics. If you want a break from traditional shader packs, give these vibrant cel shaders a shot.

ProsCons
✅ Awesome stylized comic book aesthetic❌ Drastic departure from vanilla
✅ Great performance

13. MrMeep’ Shaders

MrMeep’ Shaders from Minecraft

MrMeepz Shaders are beloved for their vibrant happy charm. This pack boosts saturation and lighting to give Minecraft a bright, cheerful appearance. Days feel sunny and alive, while nights have a lovely cozy atmosphere.

In addition to the pleasant color and light improvements, MrMeepz Shaders include great dynamic shadows, depth of field, and waving grass/leaves. The pack stays true to the core Minecraft experience. But it also provides vibrant look and feel.

With light visual effects and optimizations for weak PCs, MrMeepz Shaders are an easy way to add color and joy to Minecraft without sacrificing performance. The charming style has wide appeal for casual players.

ProsCons
✅ Bright, cheerful, and vibrant❌ Style not for everyone
✅ Good performance

12. Beyond Belief Shaders

Beyond Belief Shaders from Minecraft

Beyond Belief Shaders live up to their bold name by delivering beautiful graphics while staying relatively performant. You’ll get clean lighting, god rays, improved emissive effects, volumetric clouds, and configurable depth of field.

The features come together to create a brighter and more lively representation of the vanilla Minecraft aesthetic. Beyond Belief Shaders walk the line nicely between restraint and enhancement. Performance remains smooth on mid-tier hardware as well.

For players seeking shader pack visuals at higher FPS, Beyond Belief is an outstanding option. You get noticeably better graphics and effects without the costs associated with intense shader packs.

ProsCons
✅ Nice graphics with smooth performance❌ Not many advanced effects
✅ Restrained good looks

11. MakeUp Ultra Fast Shaders

MakeUp Ultra Fast Shaders from Minecraft

Not everyone has a top-tier gaming PC. For players wanting shader pack performance even on low-end hardware, MakeUp Ultra Fast Shaders are an excellent choice.

Despite being lightweight, MakeUp Shaders still include volumetric clouds, improved shadows, SSAO, depth of field, and adjustable color grading. The graphics are enhanced nicely within the limits of weaker hardware.

Additionally, MakeUp Shaders are highly optimized for both AMD and Nvidia GPUs. There are also low resolution texture options to boost FPS on integrated graphics. If you need solid visual improvements without taxing your system, try MakeUp Ultra Fast Shaders.

ProsCons
✅ Optimized for low-end hardware❌ Can’t compare to top packs
✅ Solid enhancements considering

10. Triliton’s Shaders

Triliton’s Shaders from Minecraft

Triliton’s Shaders take a bold, stylized approach compared to the previous realism-focused packs. This pack cranks up the vibrance, saturation, shadows, and lighting to 11 for an intense visual experience.

The colors are strongly shifted toward orange and crimson hues, creating a warm summery look. Days feel bright and vivid while nights are pitch black and foreboding. Triliton’s Shaders push Minecraft’s appearance into an energetic new direction.

Performance is also solid with Triliton’s Shaders, so you can enjoy the amped up graphics on mid-range PCs. If you want bolder, more exaggerated shader effects, this pack delivers.

ProsCons
✅ Bold, vivid stylized look❌ Too exaggerated for some
✅ Good performance

09. Kuda Shaders

Kuda Shaders from Minecraft

Kuda Shaders explode onto the shader scene a couple years ago and quickly became a staple graphics pack. As you move around, this shader creates intense, volumetric lighting following your perspective.

Kuda also features higher resolution textures, better reflections, and new atmospheric effects. Sun rays peeking over hills and reflecting off lakes look fantastic.

However, keep in mind Kuda Shaders are fairly demanding. You’ll need a dedicated GPU rather than integrated graphics to maintain good FPS. But if your PC can handle it, Kuda delivers impressive visuals.

ProsCons
✅ Great volumetric lighting❌ Needs a dedicated GPU
✅ Higher resolution textures❌ Performance impact

08. RazzleCore RTX

RazzleCore RTX from Minecraft

For players lucky enough to have an Nvidia RTX card, RazzleCore RTX delivers an astounding Minecraft experience. This shader pack harnesses real-time ray tracing for next-level realism.

You get incredibly accurate global illumination, shadows, reflections, and lighting. Water, glass, and other surfaces showcase lifelike reflective properties. Plus, RazzleCore RTX includes nice touches like volumetric atmosphere scattering and screen space ambient occlusion.

Clearly this pack is exclusively for RTX GPU owners. But if you have the right hardware, RazzleCore RTX brings Minecraft graphics into the future with stunning results. Ray tracing creates a level of realism that no standard shader pack can currently match.

ProsCons
✅ Incredible real-time ray tracing❌ Requires RTX GPU
✅ Next level realism with global illumination❌ Not accessible for most

07. Chocapic13’s Shaders

Chocapic13's Shaders from Minecraft

Chocapic13’s Shaders are a lightweight but high-quality shader pack. Despite its numerous graphical improvements, it’s still smooth enough to run on weaker PCs.

This pack features pleasant sun rays, mild depth of field, warm color correction, detailed clouds, and refined shadows. The enhancements are controlled yet noticeable. Nothing is exaggerated or overdone.

Because performance is a priority, Chocapic13’s Shaders are suitable for low and mid-tier gaming rigs. Players get nicely enhanced graphics without drastically increased resource demands. It’s a smart choice for anyone wanting a subtle graphics bump.

ProsCons
✅ Lightweight, accessible performance❌ Not many advanced effects
✅ Warm, pleasant lighting
✅ Good for lower-end PCs

06. ProjectLUMA Shaders

ProjectLUMA Shaders from Minecraft

ProjectLUMA Shaders is an evolution of the popular KUDA shader pack. This new iteration provides gorgeous effects while keeping performance smooth.

Some standout features of ProjectLUMA are the realistic volumetric clouds and sky, dynamic shadows, color and atmosphere adjustments, depth of field, and support for integrated graphics like Intel UHD. It’s also easy to customize the look.

Overall, ProjectLUMA balances beauty and playability really well. You get noticeable visual enhancements without the game becoming a slideshow. For players wanting a shader pack that runs well on mid-range setups, ProjectLUMA is an excellent pick.

ProsCons
✅ Gorgeous volumetric clouds and sky❌ Water can look strange up close
✅ Runs well on mid-range setups
✅ Lots of customization

05. Complementary Shaders

Complementary Shaders from Minecraft

As the name suggests, Complementary Shaders are designed to complement the vanilla Minecraft aesthetic rather than overhaul it completely. This pack focuses on improving lighting, textures, and colors in a more subtle way.

The pleasant sun rays, lush vegetation, smooth water, and restrained lens effects work together nicely to enhance Minecraft’s default look. You still get beautiful new graphics, but with the familiar Minecraft charm intact.

Complementary Shaders are also very customizable and perform well, making them accessible for many setups. If you want to gently build upon vanilla Minecraft with some nicer visuals, this shader pack will do the trick wonderfully.

ProsCons
✅ Enhances default Minecraft nicely❌ More subtle improvements
✅ Accessible performance
✅ Retains vanilla charm

04. Sildur’s Shaders

Sildur's Shaders from Minecraft

Sildur’s Shaders are known for their flexibility and customization options. This pack comes in three variants – Basic, Enhanced, and Vibrant – so you can tailor the visual intensity.

The Basic version offers lighting improvements that will work on most PCs. Enhanced builds on this with shadows, depth of field, and water effects. Vibrant provides the most intense colors and enhancements if your system can handle it.

Beyond the variants, Sildur’s Shaders have tons of settings you can adjust to get the look and performance you want. Tweaking the day, night, seasons, weather, shadows, lighting, and more is easy. For players who like extensive control, Sildur’s is a fantastic shader pack.

ProsCons
✅ Highly flexible with multiple versions❌ Can be overwhelming with settings
✅ Tons of customization options
✅ Works well on many setups

03. BSL Shaders

BSL Shaders from Minecraft

BSL Shaders are another favorite in the Minecraft graphics community. This shader pack aims to find a nice balance between visual quality and performance. The lighting, water, shadows, depth of field, and other effects are exceptional.

Compared to packs like Continuum and SEUS, BSL Shaders tend to have a brighter and more vibrant style. The colors pop nicely while still feeling natural. It’s not hyperrealistic, but more of an enhanced default Minecraft look.

BSL Shaders are also highly customizable, so you can tweak the visual settings to achieve your ideal performance and graphics quality balance. If you want noticeable yet practical shader upgrades, BSL is an outstanding choice.

ProsCons
✅ Great balance of performance and visuals❌ Not as advanced as some shader packs
✅ Vibrant, colorful lighting style
✅ Highly customizable

02. Continuum Shaders

Continuum Shaders from Minecraft

Continuum Shaders take realism to the next level. This hyper-realistic shader pack features volumetric lighting, beautifully dynamic clouds and weather, intense depth of field, and other top-tier graphical enhancements.

Continuum excels at creating incredibly atmospheric, lifelike environments in Minecraft. The lighting transitions smoothly throughout the day-night cycle. There’s fog and clouds rolling through the mountains. You feel like you’re exploring a living, breathing world.

Keep in mind Continuum Shaders are also extremely demanding. You’ll need a higher-end gaming PC to use this pack. But if you have the hardware, Continuum will utterly transform how immersive and photorealistic Minecraft can be. You’ve got to try it if you’re serious about graphics.

ProsCons
✅ Incredibly realistic and atmospheric❌ Extremely demanding on hardware
✅ Volumetric lighting and clouds look amazing❌ Not accessible for most setups
✅ Dynamic weather and sky are stunning

01. SEUS Shaders

SEUS Shaders from Minecraft

SEUS (Sonic Ether’s Unbelievable Shaders) is perhaps the most iconic shader pack for Minecraft. It pioneered many graphical enhancements that are now commonplace in shaders today.

SEUS aims for incredibly realistic lighting effects. Sun rays shine through trees, light bounces off surfaces, shadows transition naturally – it’s a huge upgrade over vanilla. The water also looks crystal clear.

There are a few different versions of SEUS. The legacy versions like SEUS v10/v11 are older but support lots of Minecraft versions. SEUS Renewed focuses on modern effects for newer Minecraft editions. And SEUS PTGI brings cutting-edge path-traced global illumination (ray tracing) to the pack.

For players wanting a noticeably more realistic and almost cinematic experience, SEUS remains one of the best shader packs out there. It really showcases what’s possible with Minecraft graphics these days.

ProsCons
✅ Very realistic and cinematic lighting❌ Very demanding on hardware
✅ Clear, beautiful water❌ Can be too realistic for some users
✅ Options for different Minecraft versions
✅ Cutting-edge path tracing with SEUS PTGI

How to Install Shader Mods

Installing shader packs is straightforward, but you will need a couple of things first:

  • OptiFine: This mod optimizes Minecraft’s graphics and enables support for shaders. You’ll need to install it before any shader pack will work.
  • A Shader Pack: Download a shader pack in .zip format from a site like CurseForge. Popular packs include SEUS, BSL, Continuum and more.

Here are the basic installation steps:

  1. Download and install the latest version of OptiFine for your Minecraft version.
  2. Download the shader pack .zip file and place it in the “shaderpacks” folder within your “.minecraft” folder.
  3. In the Minecraft launcher, select the OptiFine profile and launch the game.
  4. Go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders and select your shader pack.

That’s all there is to it! The shader pack will automatically load when you launch Minecraft. You can tweak specific graphical settings within the shader pack menu.

Final Thoughts

Shader packs let you experience Minecraft with brand new graphical capabilities and art styles. From hyperrealistic lighting to vintage style shaders and everything in between, there are tons of options to try. As long as you have OptiFine installed, you can easily install shader packs and tweak to your heart’s content. Just be sure to pick a pack that works smoothly with your PC’s capabilities.

Here’s everything you need to know about using a stonecutter in Minecraft

Minecraft is a 2009 3D sandbox game developed by Mojang Studios. The world of Minecraft is made out of blocks, creatures, and a community. Here, you can focus on surviving the night or building a work of art – the decision is completely all yours. That being said, the game has no specific goal and can be played however your heart desires.

There are nearly endless things to do in Minecraft. In Survival Mode, your target is gathering essential resources to survive. You’ll spend most of your time hunting, gathering, exploring, looting, organizing, and building your base.

If that sounds too daunting, then you can try your hands on the Creative Mode, where an unlimited amount of resources is right at your disposal, and you can start building whatever you like!

That said, out of the many things that help with building, a stonecutter is one of them. A stonecutter, while not absolutely essential to the game, can provide you with a lot of convenience when it comes to building. So, if you want to know more about this item, you’re at the right place.

How to Make a Stonecutter

The items required to make a stonecutter are the following:

  • 1x Iron Ingot (Obtained primarily from melting iron ores)
  • 3x Stone (Obtained by putting cobblestone in a furnace)

In order to make a stonecutter, head to a crafting table and put one piece of iron ingot in the middle of the first or second row, and then put three pieces of stones in each of the boxes in the row below the iron ingot. Heres is a picture of the crafting recipe:

How to Use a Stonecutter

Once you have the stonecutter in hand, place it somewhere to use it. Clicking on it will open the stonecutter interface. Here, you need to put the material that you will use to craft something. For example, putting a cobblestone in the ingredient box on the left will display all the items you can convert that cobblestone into.

Then, once you click on your desired item, it will appear on the box on the right, and you’ll be able to drag it to your inventory. And that’s basically it!

Here’s everything you need to know how to make candles in Minecraft

Minecraft is a 2009 3D sandbox game developed by Mojang Studios. Dive into a world where everything, as far as your eyes can see, is made out of square blocks.

Don’t let this simplicity fool you, though, as the number of mechanics in this game is more than you can count! You can take the game at your own pace and slowly build up your home or rush and take down the Ender Dragon; it’s all up to you.

You can opt to play the game in Creative Mode, where you’re given unlimited resources to make and build whatever your imagination can come up with, or you can decide to play it in Survival Mode, where you’re left on your own to gather resources to survive.

However, we should add that the game is much more fun if you have companions to play with. Whichever way you decide to start, one thing is for sure: you’re in for an epic adventure!

There comes a point in every Minecraft adventure where you kind of want to settle down and decorate your house and its surroundings. Well, candles are one of the most beautiful decorative items in the game. Not to mention, they come in a lot of colors and are a good source of light as well.

How To Craft a Candle in Minecraft

How To Make A Candle

Items required to craft a candle.

  • 1x String (Obtained from killing spiders)
  • 1x Honeycomb (Obtained by using sheers on a bee nest full of honey)

Now, to craft a candle, all you have to do is place your string on the crafting space right above the honeycomb. Since you only need two items to craft a candle, you can make this either in your crafting interface or on the crafting table. If you’re unclear about the recipe, then look at the picture below:

Now, like a lot of other decorative items in the game, you can color the candles with any dye of your choosing. In order to make a colored candle, all you need is a dye and a candle.

Place the candle in the crafting grid and then put a dye of any color to the right of the candle. And there you have it, a colored candle!

In Minecraft, each core mechanic, like building, creating redstone machines, hunting, and mining, has a lot of depth to it. The tools and processes for each of them can take quite a while to completely get the hang of. Even after you learn everything there is to know, chances are, the only limiting factor you’ll face anytime soon is your own creativity!

Minecraft has a staggering number of blocks for you to use. Safe to say that some blocks are aesthetically better than others. However, one of the best, if not the best, block for using as a building material is the concrete block. What’s more, is that they come in several colors! So, let’s get in on how to craft a concrete block in Minecraft.

How to Craft a Concrete Block in Minecraft

How To Make a Concrete Block

Items required to make a Concrete Block are:

  • 1x Dye
  • 4x Sand
  • 4x Gravel

Place the above items in the crafting table grid in whichever way you want to obtain concrete powder. Also, both sand and gravel are very common materials in Minecraft. You can find sand alongside waterbodies and you can find gravel just by digging a couple of blocks below the surface.

Now to convert that concrete powder into a concrete block, you need to place them in a body of water and then mine them with a pickaxe to obtain a block of concrete.

Here are the best ways you can get each and every ore in Minecraft!

Minecraft is probably the most popular sandbox game to date. It was developed and published by Mojang Studios in 2009. The game is characterized by its blocky world design.

However, as simple as it may look at first glance, the game has hundreds of hours worth of content to unravel and enjoy.

Minecraft allows you to build anything that your mind can imagine, whether that be a huge mansion or a village filled with residents.

Read More: The Ultimate Roadmap to Finding Diamonds in Minecraft

The game comes with two modes primarily. One is the Survival Mode, where you’re stranded in the middle of a gigantic world and left to survive. Another is the Creative Mode, where you’re given an unlimited number of every item in the game to make whatever you want.

If you’re more driven by the aspect of surviving, gathering your own essential resources, and going out on adventures, then you’re more suited for the Survival Mode.

One resource you’ll constantly be on the hunt for is the different kinds of ores in the game. Whether you’re just starting out and looking for iron, or you put a fair amount of time in the game and are now looking for netherite.

Either way, this guide will cover the best ways you can get each of the ore in the game. So keep on reading to find out!

Best Way To Find Every Ore in Minecraft

1. Coal

Coal in Minecraft

Coal is one of the earliest resources you’ll be looking for when you are new to the world of Minecraft. That’s because coal is the most common fuel for your furnaces. And thankfully, coal ores are fairly common in the game.

Coal ores spawn as high as Y=256 and can even be found around Y=0. However, the most common level for mining coal is at around Y=90.

2. Copper

If coal and iron were the most common ores people search for, then copper would be exactly the opposite of that. Because to this day, there aren’t many uses for this relatively new ore.

If you do want to farm it, try to dig around Y=48. Luckily, copper ores are fairly common, spawning from levels of Y=-16 to Y=112.

3. Iron

Iron In Minecraft

Iron probably has more uses than any other ore on this list. Aside from making durable armor, weapons, and tools, iron is also used in a wide range of other crafting recipes.

In Minecraft, Iron spawns from Y=-32 to Y=256. However, the best level to look for this ore is at Y=16. One other way to get Iron easily is through an iron farm. While it is not as complicated as some of the other farms in the game, it can take a little time. But we assure you, it’ll be worth your while once it’s up and running.

4. Gold

Gold in Minecraft
CREDIT: MOJANG STUDIOS

Although gold armor and tools are notorious for their low durability, gold ingots are actually used in a decent number of crafting recipes. Not to mention, you can also use them to trade with piglins.

Gold ore generates between levels Y=-64 and Y=32. And Y=15 is where you’ll probably find it the most. But the easiest way to stock up on gold is actually to travel to the nether with a fortune III pickaxe. Because nether gold ores are actually very common in the nether and can net you a decent amount of gold with relative ease.

5. Lapis Lazuli

Lapis in Minecraft

Lapis Lazuli is absolutely essential for enchanting your weapons, armor, books, and tools. So it’s not a bad idea to stock up on them. Lapis generates between Y= -64 and 64 and can be most commonly found at Y=0.

6. Redstone

Redstone in Minecraft

Although you cannot make weapons or armor from it, redstones are the foundation of any redstone contraptions. Fortunately, you can easily stock up on Redstone every time you go mining a little deeper.

Redstone ore generates between Y=-32 and Y=-64. And the best level for mining it is around Y=-64.

7. Diamond

Diamond In Minecraft
CREDIT: MOJANG STUDIOS

In terms of popularity, diamond is the most sought-after item in Minecraft. And it has surely earned that title for its wide range of uses. Not to mention that diamond armor, weapons, and tools were the best in the game for a long period of time and are still considered solid and viable for taking on challenges.

Diamond ores most commonly generate below Y=16. And the most common level you can find diamond is at Y= -53.

8. Emerald

If there was a currency in Minecraft, then it would be emeralds. Emeralds are most commonly used for trading with villagers who have a profession. You can find emerald ores between Y=-16 and Y=256, and it usually is the most common at around Y=224.

However, the easiest way to get gold is by trading with villagers like a fletcher, a farmer, or a librarian. Some of the best trades are:

  • Trade sticks with a Fletcher. Sticks can be easily obtained by having a bamboo forest.
  • Trade carrots and wheat with a Farmer.
  • Trade paper with a Librarian. Paper can be obtained by having a sugarcane farm.

We actually have a detailed guide on all the sources you can gather emeralds from in Minecraft. Do check it out here.

9. Nether Quartz

Well, there’s only one way to get quartz in Minecraft: through the Nether. Fortunately, nether quartz is very common in the nether, so you won’t have too much trouble finding them. Just make sure to mine them with a pickaxe, because they won’t drop anything if you break the ores with something else.

10. Ancient Debris

Netherite in Minecraft

The item that replaced diamond as the most durable item for making armor, weapons, and tools is now Netherite. Which can only be obtained from the Ancient Debris. Ancient debris can be found in the nether around Y=15. But be warned that it is several times more rarer than even diamonds!

Here is everything you need to know if you’re looking for Gold in Minecraft.

Minecraft is a survival sandbox game developed by Mojang. As a game with no set goal, you are free into a procedurally generated, never-ending world to do whatever you want. If you’re of the creative sort, you can build things from your imagination in the Creative mode. Meanwhile, if you’re in for an adventure, get ready to survive and thrive in the vast block world!

Befriend and tame creatures, fight off zombies, spiders, and skeletons, gather materials, build a farm, build your self-sustaining base, and the list goes on. When it comes to this game, the list of things you need to tick off is really endless. Whether you’re playing alone or with friends, prepare to dive into a world from which you won’t really want to get out anytime soon!

One of the most valuable resources in Minecraft is Gold. Despite gold weapons being the worst, it actually has a lot of uses other than just being a material for crafting weapons and tools. Therefore if you want to know the best ways to farm gold in Minecraft, then you came to the right place!

Top 5 Ways To Get Gold in Minecraft

5. Raiding Ocean Monuments

You can get a decent quantity of Gold in Minecraft if you can conquer an Ocean Monument. The main challenge, however, is the deadly Guardians, who will do anything to prevent you from entering their underwater territory. But if you can somehow manage to slay three Elder Guardians, all the while managing your oxygen meter and all the drawbacks from fighting underwater, then the result is rewarding.

In addition to the several valuable loots you’ll find deep in the monument, you will also be rewarded with 8 pure blocks of gold! This method is a viable way for you to collect gold.

4. Raiding Bastion Remnants

Although you can find a lot of Gold everywhere in the Nether, the place you’ll be looking for if you want the the most quantity of gold in the least amount of time is the Bastion Remnants. In spite of being heavily guarded by walls, lava, and hostile mobs, the payoff is extremely rewarding.

By making yourself towards the center of the remnant, you can net yourself several blocks of gold. And considering each block can be turned into 9 whole gold ingots, I’d say this is a fantastic way to get your hands on some gold while you’re in the Nether.

3. Zombified Piglin Farm

Zombified Piglin Farm for Gold in Minecraft

In terms of how much gold you can get, making a dedicated Piglin farm in the nether is the best way by a large margin. But building a farm that high up in a place like the Nether is not a small feat to accomplish. But if you do get it running, it’ll set you good for gold for the rest of your Minecraft playthrough.

2. Old Fashioned Mining

Mining for Gold in Minecraft
CREDIT: MOJANG STUDIOS

When it comes to simplicity, nothing can really beat sourcing your gold from mines in the overworld. During your time in the caves, you’ll surely come across other valuable ores like iron and diamond.

Also, we highly recommend you get the Fortune III enchantment on your pickaxe as soon as you can so that you can get the most amount of gold ores that way.

With that said, gold ore veins generate from Y-levels -63 to 30, so they can be found relatively quickly once you’re deep enough underground.

1. Mining Gold Ore in The Nether

Mining for Gold in The Nether

In my opinion, if your mind is set on only getting gold, then there is no better place than the nether. Here, you can gather up quite a lot of gold nuggets with relative ease, especially if you have that Fortune III pickaxe on you.

Nether gold ores drop around 2-6 gold nuggets. Not to mention that with a Fortune III pickaxe, you can get up to 24 nuggets from a single nether gold ore block!

You can then convert them into gold bars through a crafting table and carry them on. Hopefully, this method of farming gold will give you all the gold you’ll need for your playthrough.
