The post TFT Mythic and Crystals Rotating Shop Patch 14.15 appeared first on GameRiv.
]]>One of the biggest complaints from the TFT community was that there were no options for the players to get back their favorite old Chibis if they were gone from the store. Seems like Riot has finally listened to the feedback. And like League of Legends Mythic Shop, Riot Games has also introduced the Rotating Shop to TFT. In TFT, the Rotation Shop is divided into two sections: Mythic and Seasonal.
Unlike League’s, TFT’s Rotating Shop uses two different currencies, Realm Crystals and Mythic Medallions.
Mythic Medallions can only be used in the Mythic Rotating Shop, which players can only earn through the Treasure Realms. As per Riot, “Mythic Medallions drop at least once each 50 Treasure Realm pulls.” More can be earned through milestone rewards. For example, based on the client if you open 20 Treasure Realms, you are guaranteed to get 1 Mythic Medallion and if you open 60, you will get 2. Some are also available for redeem after opening a certain number of Treasure Realm pulls.
Realm Crystals on the other hand can be earned from Events, Treasure Realm, and both the free & paid Pass.
Update, August 1: Added TFT patch 14.15 Rotating Shop items.
TFT Mythic Rotating Shop items usually last for a few patches, and you will be able to see the live deadline from the client.
Getting a Mythic Chibi from the Treasure Realms is pure luck, more like gacha. You will have a 1% to 0.3% chance of getting that. Chibi Battle Bunny Miss Fortune has a 0.3% chance as per the client. But if you open significant numbers of Treasure Realms you will eventually have enough Mythic Medallions to directly buy items from the Mythic Rotating Shop.
Here is a list of all the items currently available in TFT patch 14.15 Mythic Rotating Shop.
Note: All the items just dropped in the Shop, and most of them will stay for 5-3 weeks. Ultra Threat Shisker will go away after one patch.
Item | Price |
---|---|
Chibi Prestige Cafe Cuties Gwen | 25 Mythic Medallions |
Chibi Battle Bunny Miss Fortune | 10 Mythic Medallions |
Chibi Galaxy Slayer Zed | 10 Mythic Medallions |
Le Bunny Bonbon Bistro (Arena) | 10 Mythic Medallions |
Prestige Cafe Cuties Snip Snip! (Boom) | 5 Mythic Medallions |
Battle Bunny Make It Rain (Boom) | 2 Mythic Medallions |
Galaxy Slayer Razor Shuriken (Boom) | 2 Mythic Medallions |
Ultra Threat Shisker | 4 Mythic Medallions |
Seasonal Rotating Shop is where you can get tons of new items to choose from. Here’s everything available in Magic n’ Mayhem Seasonal Rotating.
I have screenshotted all the seasonal items from patch 14.15. All the items will stay in the store for two weeks.
Following the TFT patch 14.15 rotation, all the items Riot previously announced have been rotated in the Rotating Shop. Currently, there are no leaks or official announcements about the skins that will be available in patch 14.16 or future patches. Keep an eye on our site; we will update the article with new information when available.

]]>The post Who Is Alune In Teamfight Tactics Set 11 – Inkborn Fables appeared first on GameRiv.
]]>Over the course of Teamfight Tactics becoming its own game mode, they have pushed the boundary of what they can do in terms of mechanics and the like. Set 10 – Remix Rumble was a huge hit, and players loved the set and what they could pull off in games.
That said, the Teamfight Tactics team is always looking to reinvent and innovate to bring something new to their dedicated players. Thus, they introduced Set 11 – Inkborn Fables, which brings a ton of gameplay changes alongside some system changes.
Everything looks very promising so far. The Set also introduces new characters to Teamfight Tactics. This time around, Riot releases two new characters, Alune and Kobuko. In this article, let’s talk about Alune and where she originates from in the lore.

To understand who Alune is and where she hails from, it would be remiss not to mention Aphelios, her twin brother. Many know about Aphelios from the League of Legends lore as the guy with many guns. Even in the game, people hear Alune’s voice as she helps guide Aphelios through his missions.
Alune currently resides inside a Lunari temple in the Spirit world, far from the reaches of the Solari, and has the ability to influence others with her magic. She and Aphelios share a strong bond as twins as she creates the weapons for Aphelios to use. In turn, Aphelios drinks poison made from Noctum flowers in order to connect with Alune better.
One controls the methods, while the other controls the means. Both are the hope of the Lunari as they carry forward their faith and convictions.
Judging from all the information we have at this moment, Alune will be a 3-cost unit with the Umbral and Invoker traits. Her ability rains down meteors on the enemies as this fits her character in the lore.
Alune will be released alongside the TFT Set 11 – Inkborn Fables in Patch 14.6. The patch will be deployed on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

]]>Teamfight Tactics has massively grown as a team and put out some excellent sets to explore. The past Set, Remix Rumble, had a lot of interesting aspects that everyone got behind. Headliners and the tempo style of gameplay really got players invested in the Set.
The sheer variety made players analyze the game and figure out the best way to play TFT. With more balance changes and such, Remix Rumble definitely had a lot of nice content and style to play with.
Looking to the future, Set 11 is coming soon as Riot has now unveiled Set 11, Inkborn Fables. Here is what we know so far.

With a new Set coming, Riot always has a theme and marquee mechanic that defines the gameplay. This time around, Riot is doing that with something called Encounters.
In Set 11, players will encounter Legendary beings at certain points during the game. These encounters can have minimal effect or potentially game-defining. While Riot has said that there will be over 70 different Encounters in the game, only a handful were revealed in the dev update. They are as follows.
Riot has said that all encounters will affect players equally and will appear in different ways. It could be a single player (like the Cho’Gath one), or everyone (like the Kayn one). Also, the more game-defining the encounter, the rarer they are. Let’s move on to all we know about Traits and Champions so far.
All Sets have unique Traits. This Set is no different as we will get a few. Here are the ones Riot has revealed.
This trait is exclusive to Hwei, as Artist allows him to creates duplicates in the bench. Pretty cool.
This trait is not unique to champions but it will be allocated to a new number of champions every game. Hence, this set is about adapting on the fly. Exalted will buff the champions with the trait and players adjacent to a unit with the trait. Flexibility is the name of the game for the Exalted.
This trait will allow you to bond units together to make them stronger. These
Riot is returning Fortune to TFT but it will be different. This set will also feature a new Unit from the Runeterra universe that will be a Tank Yordle. These are the units that will be in Fortune.
This is an unique trait for Xayah and Rakan. They both cost 5 and you get both. However, depending on the placement, you use either Xayah or Rakan. Both characters have unique abilities that will offer support to the other.
The Mythic trait will grant Mythic Units a bunch of stats. After 4 Combats, the stat increase is doubled. So far, these are the units we know of that will be in the Mythic Trait.
With this trait, Units that have Storyweaver allow you to create a Summon in the form of Kayle. Different breakpoints will grant more power, improve spells, and more. Here are the champions we know of that will have Storyweaver.
While we do not have info about all the champions in this Set, there are some neat ones. Riot has made a new version of Irelia for TFT while Kobuko, the Tank Yordle, is the new character as well. There will be a lot more about these Units soon. Stay tuned as Riot reveals them and we cover what is coming soon.

]]>The post Teamfight Tactics Patch 14.3 Notes appeared first on GameRiv.
]]>The last set in TFT we got is set:10, Remix Rumble. In this set, Riot introduced many kinds of musical-related additions to the game. Not only that, they even brought back some of the beloved mechanics to the game.
Some of these beloved mechanics are augments and portals. They were very popular to the point where Riot even expanded upon it. Additionally, Riot Games even added a lot of music-related changes to the game. For example, depending on your team, your music would change and correspond according to that team you just built.
We also got many new units in this update as well. And with these new additions, the meta shifted drastically.
With that said, patch 14.3 will be the last patch of set 10. Not only that, but this is also around the time of many regional TFT tournaments. Therefore, this will be a comparatively small balance patch. But almost all of the changes are significant. So, let’s check them out.

The first major change we are getting this patch is that, now all players will have the same amount of items at each stage. This is a necessary change as this patch aims to preserve the competitive integrity of the game. Additionally, Riot Mort also confirmed that we are getting a massive loot system rework coming in patch 14.5.
Heartsteel is currently the strongest trait in the game as far as the competitive scene goes. Even though it is supposed to be a risk vs reward type of trait, winning with it is not that difficult nowadays. The reason for that is that it is easy to snowball with this trait. Therefore, Heartsteel is getting some massive adjustments among them all.
As for the Punk nerfs, it is currently very strong in low ELO, even though it is perfectly fine in mid to high ELO. So it is getting some slight nerfs.

]]>The post Riot Adjusting Item Drop Variance In TFT Patch 14.3 appeared first on GameRiv.
]]>Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is currently in the Remix Rumble patch (Set 10). Remix Rumble introduced a new set of champions, portals, augments, and traits. The continuous evolution of TFT, on the one hand, has attracted a very loyal player base but also increased its complexity on the other.
Complexity is not a bad thing by any means, especially considering TFT, an auto-battler game. The role of luck has to be there to increase the variety in gameplay. When added to players’ freedom to approach in multiple ways to tackle the variety, it makes for a very compelling and fun experience.
However, the sources of complexity in TFT are multifaceted. Portals, Augments, Traits, Orb drops, mystery box, etc. The receivables from those sources vary from player to player. Each source has multiple elements in them, that exponentially increase the possibilities of game-to-game variations.
Too much convolution can hamper the game experience. It can make the game unlearnable for the majority of the population, aside from the very dedicated ones. That’s why Riot is adjusting a particular source of complexity, that is item drop variance.
In this article, I will talk about Riot’s plan to achieve that and what’s coming in the future patches.
Read More: TFT Prime Gaming Loot Rewards In January 2024
So Riot has big plans to decrease the overall system variance in TFT. This is mainly to address the aforementioned perceived unfairness. One example Riot Mortdog has given to elucidate the unfairness is the following example:
Suppose, you are in a TFT match. After a few matches, you find yourself with more gold from drops, and another player gets more item components with a little less gold. It would seem the experience is statistically balanced. But those who have deep knowledge know that item components have higher value when it comes to winning a round. And winning can eventually give you more gold generation anyway to compensate for the initial lack of it.
Riot wants to overhaul the entire system to dial down the variance from all the sources. But patch 14.4 is very important as the Remix Rumble Championship will be there. So a system overhaul doesn’t seem feasible, not to mention the time constraint. That’s why the big overhaul, with a lot of surprises, is shifted to patch 14.5. Riot will let us know more about it in detail later.
But the game, in its current stage, bears the burden of over-variance. As a short-term band-aid fix, Riot has planned to attack the item drop variance. Currently, the variance is at 2, meaning that the difference in item components between the players can be up to 2.
This variance will be reduced to 0, in the upcoming patch 14.3.
What’s important to note is that it is a temporary solution. It can make the game a bit bland since a lot of the gameplay variety used to be generated from how players strategized to mitigate the effect of item variance. With that being leveled, there will be less experimentation in champion purchases and XP investing decisions.
But the Gold Orb drop will still exist to create dilemmas for the players.
Riot will release patch 14.3 of Teamfight Tactics on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

]]>The post Riot Games Lays Off 530 Employees, Also Shuts Down Riot Forge appeared first on GameRiv.
]]>Riot Games, the makers of League of Legends and VALORANT, announced that it will be laying off 530 workers worldwide. The mass layoff will impact most of the company’s non-development teams, comprising almost 11% of the Riots’ workforce. Furthermore, Riot Games declared it would shut down Riot Forge, a subsidiary of Riot that collaborated with other developers to produce more compact, single-player games like The Mageseeker and Song of Nunu.
Riot Games became the newest company in the industry to hit with layoffs after Twitch and Unity. Earlier this month, live streaming platform Twitch and game engine developer Unity laid off almost 2,300 employees from those companies. Last year, it was estimated that nearly 10000 people in the video games industry lost their jobs. And, just a month into 2024, the video game industry is already facing massive layoffs.

Riot Games’ CEO, Dylan Jadeja, posted on the official Riot Games website that the layoffs are mainly because the company has “too many things underway.” Jadeja admitted that the company made some “bad bets” during its rapid growth since 2019. Because of those bad bets, the publisher had to make tough decisions, resulting in mass layoffs.
“Today, we’re a company without a sharp enough focus, and simply put, we have too many things underway. Some of the significant investments we’ve made aren’t paying off the way we expected them to. Our costs have grown to the point where they’re unsustainable, and we’ve left ourselves with no room for experimentation or failure – which is vital to a creative company like ours. All of this puts the core of our business at risk.
Over the past several months, we’ve tried to alter our trajectory in many different ways.
hiring slowdowns, and in some cases hiring freezes.
We put an emphasis on controlling costs while strengthening our revenue growth.
All of which has without a doubt been tough for our teams.
But as I’ve dug in with leaders across Riot, it’s become clear to all of us that these changes aren’t enough.
We have to do more to focus our business and center our efforts on the things that drive the most player value – the things that are truly worth players’ time.
Dylan Jadeja, Riot Games CEO
Jadeja mentioned that the company had been trying to control costs throughout the last several months but ultimately failed, forcing it to lay off a chunk of its workforce. However, because of the layoff, the Legends of Runterra team was also downsized due to the low financial performance of the game.
Mentioning Riot Forge, Jadeja said that the company will now focus on its current games, including League of Legends, VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift. Riot Forge will be shut down because Jadeja no longer views it as “central to our strategy going forward.”
Jadeja clarified that even though Riot Forge shuts down, the players can still experience single-player games. Moreover, Jadeja added that Riot Games will work on single-player titles in the future “if the right project comes along.”

Teamfight Tactics was a game mode created as a limited game mode, but it really took off. It took off to the point that Riot created Teamfight Tactics as its own game mode with a client and such. Players have really gravitated towards the game mode to challenge themselves and climb up in the ranks for Teamfight Tactics.

In addition, TFT’s Set 11 will be available in March. The title “An Encounter with Myths & Legends” suggests that mythology will be a major inspiration. During summer, Riot will also be celebrating the five-year anniversary of TFT with this year’s summer event.
July of this year will see the debut of TFT Set 12, which will have a magical theme. After that, we will have Set Revival 2, and finally, in Q4 of 2024, we will have Set 13.
In between these massive updates, Riot will still be continuing their smaller patches. These patches will be introduced every two weeks and will contain Balance Adjustments, Bug Fixes, and more.
Because of how frequently the game is updated, it’s difficult to keep track of these. As a result, Riot releases a patch schedule at the beginning of each year. This enables players to stay up to date on forthcoming changes and adjust accordingly.
