Legends of Runeterra’s single-player roguelike-mode Path of Champions will go back to more story-based content.

Legends of Runeterra, just like League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics, share the same, joint universe. The interconnectedness of Runeterra makes the lore very appealing to people who can appreciate the story. While Lol is more focused on the gameplay and the grind, LoR tries to dump as much LoR as possible.

Path of Champions is a great story-driver for the game. It’s a single-player rogue-like mode where you play against AI enemies in different locations. The cards in the decks keep changing and evolving as you progress. Also at the start of a campaign, you get to choose a champion, based on which the narrative progresses. Each champion’s journey is different. Through multiple campaigns, you get to unravel a lot of the mysteries surrounding the greater Runeterra.

Recently, the mode dialed down on its storytelling aspect. Riot has given an update on the future of Path of Champions that I will be discussing in this article.

More Densely Packed Story-Based Content in Path of Champions

In response to a Twitter user’s query, Rioter Eric Shen has revealed that there will indeed be more story-based content in Path of Champions mode.

However, not every champion will get the same amount of story content. That is understandable because not every champion has equal weight to the story. Elder Dragon, for example, as the Rioter adds. Also, some of the champions, such as Aatrox, Lux, Morgana, etc have more polished lore already than some of the more recent additions.

But you can be certain of having more story content in PoC. I am assuming they will be maintaining lore consistency, as Riot stated not too long ago that they will be tying up all the inconsistent threads.

Overall, it’s a great decision and something to be excited about if you enjoy exploring all the details of the champions in the Runeterra universe.
