With the Semifinals out of the way, here is a preview of the Worlds 2023 Finals matchups.
The League of Legends Worlds 2023 Finals has arrived. After a year of grueling hard work, after taking on the best teams from around the world, it all comes to this: the Summoners Cup. The two remaining teams, T1 and Weibo Gaming will go head-to-head at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome for the final showdown. Only one team will take the crown, and one goes home empty-handed.
Will Faker and T1 be able to take home another title, or will Weibo Gaming create a miracle? Let’s find out.

Worlds 2023 Grand Finals
T1 and Weibo Gaming both had a rough start to Worlds 2023. Weibo Gaming had lost to both G2 Esports and KT Rolster in the Swiss Stage, leading to them barely making it to the Knockout stage with a 3-2 score. But they picked up the pace in the Knockout Stage. Weibo Gaming defeated the LCS representative NRG in a dominating 3-0 fashion in the Quarterfinals and BLG 3-2 in a close Semifinals.
While T1’s run was a little less bumpy comparatively, they also had lost pretty hard to Gen.G. However, the loss to Gen.G might have woken something inside of them. After that, T1 has not lost a series. They made it to the Knockout Stage in a 3-1 fashion after beating Cloud9, TL, and BLG. Their Knockout Stage run was even better. T1 beat both LPL’s powerhouses, LNG and JDG in a pretty convincing fashion.
With that said, let us move on to the rundown of the Worlds 2023 Finals matchup.
T1 vs Weibo Gaming
On the top side of the map, we have the 2018 World Champion, TheShy, going up against the young T1 Top Laner Zeus. Both these Top Laners are similar in terms of skill level, and they both have a vast champion pool. Overall, Top Lane looks to be a stalemate.
Draft is going to be a big factor when it comes to Jungle this series. Since both Oner and Weiwei have a very similar champ pool, the champions they get are going to be the deciding factor. That said, denying Oner Rell needs to be a big priority for Weibo Gaming, as Oner looked monstrous on his Rell.
Mid-lane is looking to be yet another stalemate, it seems. Both Faker and Xiaohu are excellent Control-Mage players, but whoever performs the best should control the Mid-Lane.
Bot Lane is where things get interesting. Both the 2022 Worlds and this year’s Worlds have been dictated largely by Bot Lanes. Whichever team has the best Bot Lane usually comes out on top.
In terms of the bot lane of these two teams, the T1 bot seems clearly the favorite. Gumayusi and Keria have been dominating almost every bot lane. They can play almost every champion and every style, making them very hard to beat.
Light and Crisp aren’t to be underestimated, as they have clearly shown their ability to adapt in that WBG vs BLG series. They can play both engage and push bot lanes to counter T1’s aggression.
That said, Both T1 and Weibo Gaming have their strength and weaknesses. However, factoring in all the variables, the matchup is slightly T1 favored. So we can expect a 3-2 victory for the Korean representative T1.
