Love it or hate it, you will see many more players with aim-assists in your Apex lobbies.
Apex Legends was released almost 5 years ago, and the debate seems endless. Sparks flew even higher after crossplay was introduced, as mouse and keyboard players were up against controller users. Even the best aimers can get bested by the aim assist mechanic, especially in Apex Legends.
There is a perception that controller players can easily replicate many of the mechanics on MnK, even though the players have worked hard to earn and perfect them. Moreover, aim assist allows them to get an advantage in a game, which can cause a lot of frustration. Whichever side of the debate you might be on, functions like Aim Assist are here to stay.

The Issue With Aim Assist in Apex
Apex Legends is a very fast-paced battle royale. Every second counts in any engagement. So, when your opponent has a magnet in your head, you are bound to be frustrated if you are on MnK. This is the case for a lot of fights involving controllers and PC players, and professional players like HusKerrs and ImperialHal have shared their frustrations on Twitter, and not for the first time.
There’s still the counter-argument that it’s a part of the game and has been since the days of Call of Duty. So, it is futile to complain about Aim Assist in Apex when games were previously built around this mechanic. As of now, Respawn hasn’t taken a stand on whether they’re looking into nerfing the mechanic. So all the players can do is wait it out.
What Does the Future Hold?
While Hal has gone on record calling out controller config users before, there’s nothing that suggests any change is upcoming. Players might not agree on the existence of aim-assist, but it levels the playing field for casual players. Disabling aim-assist in Apex will make life hard for controller players, especially the ones on consoles.
