VALORANT developer Riot Games recently announced a new competitive game mode for the game called “Premier”.
VALORANT is a free-to-play 5v5 tactical shooter game developed by Riot Games. In the game, one team has to plant the spike while the other team defends. Since its release, VALORANT has garnered the attention of gamers all around the world.
The game caters to casual players but also has a different, more competitive game mode for the serious playerbase. VALORANT players can take part in competitive matches to test out their skills against other players. They get Rank Ratings based on their performance in the game and move up the competitive ranks.
But Riot Games has decided to introduce a new competitive game mode called Premiere and will soon start testing it.

VALORANT New Gamemode Premier:
Just a few minutes ago, Riot Games released an official blog post announcing the soon-to-start Alpha test of the new Premier game mode. Riot game aims to introduce the players to an environment similar to the VALORANT VCT tournaments with this.
The blog post says,
“Next week, the competitive team is delivering the Alpha version of this feature into the hands of an initial group of players—called Premier.“
Players will be able to create teams and participate in scheduled matches throughout the season. This new competitive gamemode is what’s called “Premier”. It’s for the more seasoned VALORANT players who want more stakes than competitive.
Although Riot games have worked for a long time on this gamemode, it’s still in the Alpha stage. Currently, about 60% of the planned features have been added to the game mode.
“In its current state, Premier is about 60% of all the planned features and functionally, but there are whole features that are absent in the current Alpha.“
Starting next week, Brazilian VALORANT players will be able to jump into the Premier Alpha test. Riot games will take feedback from these players and release it for other regions later, although the date has not been finalized yet.
Some of the key features Brazilian players will be testing of Premier mode are-
- Team creation (with team logos and colors)
- Server load
- Tournament play (including a map pick-and-ban system)
- Premier Score (and qualifying for the end-of-season tournament)
- Matchmaking and queue health throughout the Alpha
- General bugs
- and much more!
