The upcoming VALORANT patch gives Omen a long-awaited Ultimate buff.

Riot Games will release the 8.07 patch notes for VALORANT on April 9, 2024. The update will not bring anything significant other than Omen’s Ultimate buff. And thanks to it, Omen will be able to pick up spikes or interact with other usables like doors and weapons while in the shadow form of From the Shadows. Moreover, to pull that off, you don’t have to cancel your Ultimate.

Apart from Omen’s ultimate buff, the 8.07 patch notes do not have anything significant other than some of the bug fixes. In any case, here are the full 8.07 patch notes.

Agent Update

Omen

  • Omen is now able to pick up the Spike and interact with other useables like doors while in the Shade form of From the Shadows (X) without having to cancel the ability. Our goal is to make these interactions more intuitive and clearly intended.

General Update

  • Interaction prompts have received an accessibility update, adding contrast to make them easier to read in-game. The prompt text has been simplified, and weapon prompts no longer show skinline names.

Bug Fixes

  • Agent
    • Fixed an exploit where the Chamber could place Trademark (C) in unintended locations.
    • Fixed a bug where Clove’s Not Dead Yet (X) does not progress the “Use Your Ultimate” weekly mission, and Match Details incorrectly reports 0 casts.
    • Fixed a bug where Clove’s Ruse (E) used after death does not report to the Match Details.
    • Fixed a bug where Clove’s aim direction would abruptly change when suppressed during Not Dead Yet (X). Thank you FLOWSHIZZLETV, FatalGlytch, and papashlomo for the testing and report (https://twitter.com/FLOWSHIZZLETV/status/1772743253701366058?s=20).
    • Fixed a bug where Clove would sometimes resurrect without their primary weapon when using Not Dead Yet (X).
    • Fixed a bug where Clove’s head and arm hitboxes could be offset when aiming sharply up or down with Ruse (E) equipped.
      • Fixed the same bug that also applied while Clove was crouched with Ruse (E) equipped.
    • Fixed a bug where Clove’s Meddle (Q) used an incorrect ability icon in the combat report.
    • Submitted a speculative fix for Clove’s Pick-Me-Up HUD (C), sometimes showing > 150 total health values when taking fall damage as Clove activated the ability
  • General
    • Damage
      • We fixed a bug where fractional damage would represent the total damage taken incorrectly on the HUD. This bug resulted in issues like close-range Classic body shots on armored targets appearing to deal 25 instead of 26 damage and Clove appearing to heal to 151 health with Pick-Me-Up (C) in some circumstances.

Riot Games released the patch notes for VALORANT 8.04 just before the start of the new Act. Here are all the game mode changes, bug fixes, and upcoming changes coming to the game.

VALORANT Episode 8 Act 2 is almost around the corner, and players are eager to find out what new features and changes are coming to the game. With the new patch 8.04 update, Riot Games is changing the game modes ahead of the VCT Masters Madrid and fixing some bugs in VALORANT.

Earlier in March 2024, VALORANT Episode 8 Act 2 Battle Pass skins, player cards, and other items were leaked thanks to ValorLeaks. In addition, thanks to the leaker, we came to know about another skin bundle called Fortune’s Hand. Riot Games may introduce a new Agent in Episode 8 Act 2, and it is rumored that the new Agent could be a Controller.

VALORANT Episode 8 Act 2 is scheduled to be released on March 5, 2024. The early patch notes will give you an overview of what to expect in the new act, and more changes will come during the new Episode. Here are the detailed patch notes for the VALORANT 8.04 update.

VALORANT 8.04 Early Patch Notes

Modes Update

The Range

  • Added character portraits and minimap icons for Training Bots in the Range.

Premier Updates

A New Stage of Premier will begin in patch 8.04 with a few updates:

  • No more enrollment! Players can make a team and start playing at any time in the Stage.
  • Provisional divisions are shown immediately upon team creation, update whenever the roster or Zone changes, and are locked in once your team plays your first match of the Stage.
  • Teams can change their Zone anytime before they play their first match of the Stage.
  • Weekly matches now have rematch protection, so you won’t face the same team twice in a Stage (unless you’ve been in the queue a long time).
  • You can only play 2 matches per week, so no jumping between teams as a free agent within the same week.
  • Standings show Playoff results once Playoffs start and lock in 48 hours after Playoffs end.

Esports Features Updates

Masters Madrid is right around the corner, and we have a few updates for the Esports Hub:

  • As Kickoff concludes and teams secure their place at Masters Madrid, the Global Events tab of the Hub will unlock, letting you explore participating teams, schedules, and the new format.
  • You can check out the Swiss Bracket page for Groups and watch teams qualify for the Playoffs.

Bug Fixes

Agent

  • Fixed known cases where KAY/O’s ZERO/point (E) would sometimes report inaccurate information. Please report any further instances.
  • Fixed a bug where if you were revived by Sage’s Resurrection (X), you would be nudged slightly at the end of the animation.
  • Fixed a bug where bullets could pass through the corners of Sage’s Barrier Orb (C).

Esports Features

  • Fixed a bug where the Esports Hub Schedule was not automatically taking you to the current day.
  • Fixed a visual bug in the Play In Groups Bracket that showed duplicate information.

Gameplay Systems

  • Fixed a bug with abilities extending past the minimap widget such as Killjoy’s Lockdown (X).

Premier

  • Fixed a bug where the start button wouldn’t update immediately if you’re in the lobby when an event starts.

Known Issues

Premier

  • A team creation deadline is sometimes displayed on the Premier hub. There is no longer a deadline for team creation – feel free to create at any time in the Stage!

VALORANT 8.02 Patch notes have been released, and the game update will be coming out shortly, along with many changes to the game. Players worldwide have been waiting for the patch notes as the PBE for the update was previously canceled due to Riot Games’ short staff.

However, there’s no need to worry. Not much will change with the update. As mentioned in the patch notes, there’ll be some minor agent and cosmetic-related updates with the patch. However, the only thing to look for in the update is the Esports hub.

VALORANT’s Patch 8.0 brings a KIlljoy Nerf and Deadlock Buff, which might shake things up.

VALORANT is a 5v5 strategic shooter developed by Riot Games. The esteemed developers of League of Legends VALORANT have become a worldwide sensation. It has a wide range of map pools alongside many diverse agents.

The current patch 8.0 of VALORANT brings in many changes, including the new Icebox map and other agent adjustments. Most notable changes were made to Killjoy and Deadlock. Let’s look at the new Killjoy nerf and Deadlock buff with patch 8.0.

Patch 8.0’s Killjoy Nerf and Deadlock Buff

The female Sentinels of VALORANT, Killjoy and Deadlock have received extensive changes with the new Patch 8.0. Here’s a brief overview what to expect for Killjoy and Deadlock mains:

Killjoy Nerf

Killjoy received a very drastic nerf with the Patch 8.0. From now on, Killjoy’s turret will have a reduced vision radius from 180 degrees to 100 degrees. Moreover, there will be a new vision cone for the turret’s vision, and added VFX accompanying the changes.

All Adjustments to Killjoy

  • Turret (E)
    • Vision radius reduced 180 degrees >>> 100 degrees
    • Added a representation of the Turret’s vision cone on Killjoy’s minimap when she is placing the Turret.
    • Added VFX and updated the Turret’s animations to communicate the Turret’s new vision radius.

Deadlock Buff

Deadlock wall is arguably the weakest Sentinel until Patch 8.0’s release. She has received a large buff to her Barrier Mesh, extending to larger lengths than before. Moreover, her Sonic Sensors are now recallable, which allows anyone to reposition the sensors mid-round. A light sound effect has been added for the Sonic Sensor.

  • Sonic Sensor (Q)
    • Sonic Sensors are now recallable in round.
    • Sonic Sensor’s pickup distance increased from 12m >>> 27m
    • Decreased time to concuss once triggered from 1.0s >>> 0.5s
    • Decreased time for enemies to destroy Sonic Sensor once triggered 0.65s >>> 0.5s
    • Deadlock and her allies can now hear Sonic Sensor’s audio lightly in its area of effect.
  • Barrier Mesh (E)
    • Increased the max length Barrier Mesh walls from 6m >>> 10m

The new adjustments to the Sentinel agent pool will surely result in newer team comps in both the Competitive and Esports. Although Killjoy’s changes seem drastic in comparison to her peers Cypher and Deadlock, it might bring in a new flank-holding strategy in the upcoming months.

VALORANT is setting its foot on a new chapter. Here’s an early look at all the changes coming to Episode 8 Act 1.

VALORANT is moving towards a new chapter with the release of Episode 8, Defiance. Riot Games has already released the teasers and artwork, and based on what we’ve seen, it seems to be one of the most promising episodes since VALORANT’s launch.

However, we are only setting our foot on Act 1, and getting really excited shouldn’t be an appropriate response. So, for now, let’s focus on the things that are surely coming to the Act 1 of Defiance.

For starters, for the first time since launch, we are getting a brand new weapon into the game called Outlaw, making this Act somewhat memorable. Moreover, Icebox is returning to the map rotation, replacing Haven, which has been in the game for the longest time. On the other hand, Lotus is also receiving some adjustments to make it more viable competitively.

Apart from these, some of the Agents like Deadlock and Killjoy are also getting some balance changes. Curious to learn more? Here are the early patch notes for VALORANT Episode 8 Act 1.

VALORANT 7.10 patch notes are out. Along with it, Deadlock is receiving a big buff. The other changes remain somewhat insignificant.

Riot Games releases regular updates to keep the game fresh and bug-free. So, every 2 weeks or so, VALORANT receives minor to major updates that improve the game.

VALORANT has already received several patches as of Episode 7, and more will be added before the season ends. Riot’s most recent patch, as of this writing, is 7.10. In this patch, the developer mainly focused on Deadlock, as they made some good improvements compared to its previous state.

Jett, on the other hand, received some minor changes. However, you can’t call it a buff or a nerf. In the Team Deathmatch mode, however, Reyna and Fade were given some changes. Reyna received a notable nerf, whereas Fade got a good buff.

Apart from these, there are no other significant changes in the update. So, without further ado, here are the detailed patch notes for the VALORANT 7.10 update.

Jett

  • Jett’s third-person animations, while Blade Storm (X) is equipped, have been adjusted to help with combat clarity. It should now be easier to understand her movement when she’s running and throwing knives.

Ever since Riot Games launched VALORANT, the hardcore tactical shooter community has not been happy with the amount of time they were run down by a player using rifles while moving at full speed.

Unlike most other FPS games, the tactical shooter genre should reward players for their patience, trigger discipline, proper use of counter strafe, etc., to get an advantage over their opponents.

However, with rifles such as the Phantom, players were running at top speed and mowed down their opponents, which is practically unheard of in the tactical shooter genre. The movement accuracy of the weapons in VALORANT has been a hot topic in the community.

Following many complaints, it seems like Riot finally decided to nerf the movement accuracy in the game while shooting. Alongside the movement accuracy nerf, Riot also fixed the problem with the in-game weapon store that was impacting performance.

    • The rate limiting is lenient in most modes but more strict in deathmatch.

The most anticipated 2.02 patch has already arrived, and it seems like Riot Games finally responded to the players’ complaints regarding the current ranking process in VALORANT.

With the launch of VALORANT Episode 2, there has been a major shift in how the overall ranking system works. The new system would give a player their rank based on their hidden MMR. While it sounded like a good idea, in reality, it actually made it more challenging to climb the rank ladder for some individuals.

Furthermore, some players with inflated ranks really disrupted the overall balance in the competitive mode. Therefore, Riot made some changes to how their MMR to rank convergence system works.

In patch 2.02, players will also be getting a performance bonus for delivering exceptional performances. This will help extraordinary players stand out from the crowd and let them climb the ladder faster until they reach Diamond.

VALORANT Patch Note 2.02

  • MMR to Rank Convergence increase.

Convergence is the multiplier that gives you more or less, Rank Rating (RR) if your MMR is not equal to your rank. Convergence exists to push your rank to match your MMR—but we believe it wasn’t pushing you fast enough.

After this change, most of you should see an increase in RR gains if your rank is below your MMR. You should also start to see fewer RR losses per loss as well. Lowering the amount of RR you lose per loss will make it so you’ll have to play fewer games to get to the Rank you deserve (while still giving us a few matches to test and make sure you belong at that rank).

Overall, you should feel less “hardstuck” if you’re getting matched into higher-skilled games than your actual rank. Those of you with exceptionally good individual performance in games where your team wins decisively will see close to 50 RR per win.

  • Diamond 3 is now Solo/Duo.

We want to make sure that you can’t 5-stack all the way to the leaderboard, as well as reduce the amount of Immortal/Radiant 5-stacks you may encounter. This change, along with the convergence changes, reduces the total number of games that 5-stacks can play together before being forced to Solo/Duo.

The secondary goal of this change was to create a buffer to the leaderboards so we can build confidence that when you get to Immortal, you’ve truly earned it.

  • Performance Bonus for Iron to Diamond.

Exceptional match performance should be rewarded differently than average performance. Right now, the matchmaker has an idea of how well you should perform whenever it puts you in a match. When you go above that expectation (above your average), extra RR is your reward.

This is to incentivize playing well but get you to stop comparing yourself to your teammates. The goal of ranked is to maintain a healthy, competitive queue where you all feel like you can challenge yourself to improve. As a secondary goal, this will also help push smurfs, or players who may have seen significant skill improvements, to higher ranks quickly.
