Killjoy received a very drastic nerf with the Patch 8.0. From now on, Killjoy’s turret will have a reduced vision radius from 180 degrees to 100 degrees. Moreover, there will be a new vision cone for the turret’s vision, and added VFX accompanying the changes.

All Adjustments to Killjoy

  • Turret (E)
    • Vision radius reduced 180 degrees >>> 100 degrees
    • Added a representation of the Turret’s vision cone on Killjoy’s minimap when she is placing the Turret.
    • Added VFX and updated the Turret’s animations to communicate the Turret’s new vision radius.

Deadlock wall is arguably the weakest Sentinel until Patch 8.0’s release. She has received a large buff to her Barrier Mesh, extending to larger lengths than before. Moreover, her Sonic Sensors are now recallable, which allows anyone to reposition the sensors mid-round. A light sound effect has been added for the Sonic Sensor.

  • Sonic Sensor (Q)
    • Sonic Sensors are now recallable in round.
    • Sonic Sensor’s pickup distance increased from 12m >>> 27m
    • Decreased time to concuss once triggered from 1.0s >>> 0.5s
    • Decreased time for enemies to destroy Sonic Sensor once triggered 0.65s >>> 0.5s
    • Deadlock and her allies can now hear Sonic Sensor’s audio lightly in its area of effect.
  • Barrier Mesh (E)
    • Increased the max length Barrier Mesh walls from 6m >>> 10m

The new adjustments to the Sentinel agent pool will surely result in newer team comps in both the Competitive and Esports. Although Killjoy’s changes seem drastic in comparison to her peers Cypher and Deadlock, it might bring in a new flank-holding strategy in the upcoming months.
