Season 20 comes with the ability to play Apex in 120 hz on consoles, something that fans wanted for quite some time!
Respawn has shipped one of the biggest updates to the game we all know and love. Apex has changed as we know it while still remaining the same. The new gameplay features, perks, and progression are a breath of fresh air. Moreover, the console community now has the ability to play Apex at 120 Hz.
The divide between console and PC is as evident as ever, with players from both sides having sizable perks and drawbacks. How to Play Apex Legends at 120 Hz?
With the new update, it is possible to play Apex at a higher refresh rate. We don’t need to stress how a higher refresh rate matters now, do we? However, activating it might be a bit tricky, so here’s how you can turn on the high-performance mode. Before that, make sure of the following:
- Your screen can display 120 Hz or more
- You have the necessary HDMI 2.1 cable to use the high refresh rate
With that sorted, here’s how you can enable high performance
For PS5
- On your PS5, go to Settings and enter ‘Screen and Video’
- Under Video, put the “120 hz output” on automatic
- In the game, go to Settings and enter the Video tab
- Select “Performance” in the Graphics Mode tab
For Xbox
- Go to Settings and enter TV & Display Options
- Under the Display tab, select your preferred Refresh Rate. You might need to adjust your resolution to 1080p
After you adjust your settings, you might need to restart the game once.
