How To Upgrade Your Weapons in LAD 8
In order to upgrade your weapons, you need to head to Julie’s Gearworks. This shop is a weapon crafting and upgrading shop that you’ll unlock at the beginning of chapter 4 of the main campaign.
You will unlock Julie as a vendor after you’re introduced to her by the bartender of the Resolve Bar, the primary residence of your team in Hawaii. When you do unlock Julie, her shops will become accessible all across the map.
Conveniently, visiting any one of these shops will allow you to upgrade, brand, and even craft new and more powerful weapons.
How To Upgrade Your Weapons At Julie’s
Upgrading your weapons will cost you Upgrade Materials and a small fee that increases every time you upgrade a weapon. You can strengthen a weapon up to 50 times; each level increases the weapon’s primary stats by a single point.

- Select the ‘Strengthen Weapon’ option.
- Put the ‘Upgrade Material’ on the counter.
- Lastly, click on ‘Perform Upgrade’ to finally upgrade your desired weapon.
Everything You Need To Know About The Upgrade Materials
As mentioned above, you need Upgrade Materials to perform any kind of enhancements to your weapons. Therefore, collecting these is vital.
You’ll primarily source your Upgrade Materials by winning fights, finishing dungeons, completing main and side missions, picking up items in the world, opening safes etc.
Furthermore, you can get five types of Upgrade Materials, and they all offer different levels of upgrade. These are:
- Iron Fragments: Upgrade Value 1
- Iron Chunk: Upgrade Value 2
- Iron Ore: Upgrade Value 4
- Pure Steel: Upgrade Value 8
- Lustrous Steel: Upgrade Value 16
To explain simply, in terms of how much you can upgrade a said weapon, one Lustrous Steel is equivalent to sixteen Iron Fragments.
