The blockbuster hit game Palworld developers want to release it on more platforms.
Pocket Pair, the developer of the worldwide phenomenon Palworld, recently discussed the possibility of bringing the game to other platforms. Released through early access on Xbox and PC, the Pokemon-like survival game took the gaming community by storm in January 2024. Palworld sold more than ten million copies in a week and registered more than 25 million players in just a month, making it one of the fastest-selling games in history.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Takuro Mizobe, the creator of Palworld, revealed that Pocket Pair is currently in talks about bringing the game outside of Steam and Xbox Game Pass. Furthermore, Mizobe mentioned that the studio is content with being independent for now but is open to an acquisition or partnership; however, they are not talking to Microsoft about it.
Mizobe stated that the studio is open to collaborating because Palworld is too big for Pocket Pair to handle. He mentioned during the interview that the studio wants to maintain the intimacy of its small team and keep making small games in the future.
Games are most fun when playing with friends. A game without a multiplayer mode just doesn’t feel right in the era we live today.
Takuro Mizobe
During the interview, Takuro Mizobe did not reveal which platform the studio plans to release Palworld on as the game is still in early access. Players will still have to wait patiently to find out if the game will be released on the PlayStation or Switch.
