The first micro-patch of the year for Wild Rift, patch 5.0a, is finally here. Here’s every change that you need to know.
Last year was one of the biggest years in terms of content in Wild Rift. We received so many new additions and reworks to the game.
As for champions, we have gotten many iconic ones like Hecarim, Vladimir, Zyra, Twitch, Fiddlesticks, etc. Not only that, we have also gotten the beloved Arena game mode from League PC. And just like in PC, it was well received in Wild Rift as well. Alongside all of them, we also got a rune system rework.
These were very notable additions to the game. Similarly, as patch 5.0 is the first patch of the year, it would also be as significant as prior updates.
In 5.0, we are getting three new champions. They are Syndra, Talon, and Kindred. Additionally, Arena is coming back as well. And including Arena, we are also getting a limited-time game mode called Double Cast.
With new additions also come new balance changes. So, in patch 5.0a, we are getting some buffs, nerfs, and reworks in Wild Rift. Let’s check all of them out.

Champion Buffs
Garen
With the new item changes, Garen has become a very weak champion in the early game. And because of his subpar scaling, he can’t even compete in the late game as well. So, he is getting some much-needed buffs.
- Decisive Strike
- Damage: 30/70/110/150 + 40% Attack Damage >>> 40/80/120/160 + 40% Attack Damage
- Judgment
- Damage per on-hit: 11/14/17/20 + 30%/35%/40%/45% Attack Damage >>> 12/16/20/24 + 30%/35%/40%/45% Attack Damage
Syndra
Even though Syndra is the newest champion in the game, she is still a very weak mage overall. So, she is getting some health and scaling buffs.
- Base Stats
- Base Health: 540 >>> 570
- Dark Sphere
- Damage: 70/110/150/190 + 55% Ability Power >>> 70/115/160/205 + 65% Ability Power
Zyra
Similar to Syndra, Zyra’s early game is pitiful as well. So, she is getting some early damage on her Deadly Spines ability. At the same time, she is getting more late-game damage on Garden of Thorns while also getting some scaling nerfs.
- Garden of Thorns
- Health of Thorn Spitter: (20 – 160) + 35% Ability Power >>> (20 – 272) + 25% Ability Power
- Deadly Spines
- Damage: 60/110/160/210 + 50% Ability Power >>> 70/125/180/235 + 50% Ability Power
Ziggs
Even with the QoL buffs he received not too long ago, Ziggs hasn’t reached his true potential. So, he is getting some slight buffs.
- Short Fuse
- Damage to turret: 15% >>> 24%
- Empowered damage of Bouncing Bomb to turret: 20% >>> 32%
Champion Nerfs
Fizz
In the past couple of patches, Fizz has been a strong pick across all ranks. These nerfs should reduce his impact slightly during team fights.
- Urchin Strike
- Damage: 20/40/60/80 + 55% Ability Power + 100% Attack Damage >>> 20/40/60/80 + 50% Ability Power + 100% Attack Damage
- Rending Wave
- Empowered basic attack: 50/75/100/125 + 50% Ability Power >>> 50/75/100/125 + 45% Ability Power
Twitch
Since the last patch, Twitch has become a very strong flex pick. So Riot is nerfing his base stats heavily while nerfing his Spray and Pray.
- Base Stats
- Base Attack Damage: 58 >>> 54
- Attack Damage per level: 4.5 >>> 3.5
- Spray and Pray
- Bonus Attack Damage gained: 25/40/55 >>> 20/35/50
Champion Adjustments
Yuumi (Rework)
Yuumi’s rework was announced during the patch preview of 5.0. To summarize the changes, when she attacks the enemy champion, she gains extra shields. And the overall buffs she provides has increased. To be fair, these changes might make her one of the best support champions in the game again.
- Bop N’ Block
- New: Yuumi’s attacks and abilities against enemy champions grant her a shield, which also takes effect when Yuumi is Attached.
- Shield value: 35 + 25 per level + 25% Ability Power >>> 50 + 10 per level + 25% Ability Power
- Cooldown: 18/15/12/9s (growth at 1/5/9/13 levels) >>> all levels 18s
Sivir
When Sivir is ahead, she is becomes extremely oppressive. At the same time, she cannot scale into late game, if she falls behind. So Riot is nerfing her late game, while buffing her early game.
- Ricochet
- Damage: 22%/24%/26%/28% Attack Damage >>> 8/10/12/14 + 15%/17%/19%/21% Attack Damage
Item Changes
Titanic Hydra
- Cleave: Range of the shockwave: 500 → 550
Heartsteel
- Colossal Consumption: Time for charging the huge strike: 3s → 2.5s
