Prestige skins are the highest-tier legend skins you can purchase in the game. However, not all of them are equally desirable.
Prestige skin appeared for the first time in Apex Legends during the 3rd anniversary event in Season 12. Since then, Respawn has introduced a total of 8 Prestige skins to the game. Prestige skins, like Heirlooms, are extremely expensive and can only be purchased using Heirloom shards or through collection events using Apex coins. Although all Prestige skins are amazing, some are regarded as preferable compared to others due to their unique designs, features, and appearances. Having this in mind, we will rank every Prestige skin in the game from best to worst.
To keep the list fair, we are not considering the skydive trails while ranking, as most of the Prestige skins don’t have one. However, other features like the design of the skins, animations, and finishers will be considered. So, without any further ado, let’s get into the ranking.

1. Apex Contagion [Caustic]
- Release Date: April 25, 2023
- Season: 16
- Event: Veiled Collection Event
Unlike most Prestige skin releases, every tier in Apex Contagion offers extraordinary details. The combination of green and black, alongside the design of the bodysuit and headgear, perfectly complements Caustic’s toxic personality. Every other Prestige skin is incomplete in some way. However, this is not the case with Apex Contagion. Everything about Apex Contagion is perfect. As a result, we believe that Caustic Prestige is by far the best one Respawn released in the game.
2. Apex Voidshifter [Wraith]
- Release Date: December 6, 2022
- Season: 15
- Event: Wintertide Collection Event
We might’ve crowned Apex Voidshifter as the best Prestige skin if Wraith had a better tier 3 skin. Despite having a stunning hairstyle, the tier 3 skin, especially the helmet, doesn’t go with Wraith’s concept at all. Other than that, there is no complaint about Apex Voidshifter. The transition between the tier 1 and tier 2 skins, according to us, is by far the best. Moreover, the animated cape featuring a starry night sky is a great attention to detail that you won’t find in any other Prestige skin. The deep glowing eyes and the hairstyle make Wraith such a badass ninja who came from the future of the Apex universe.
3. Apex Nightmare [Revenant]
- Release Date: October 17, 2023
- Season: 18
- Event: Doppelgangers Collection Event
As Revenant already has so many great skins, it was a very hard decision to rank Apex Nightmare higher than this. However, ranking it lower won’t also do Apex Nightmare any justice. At first glance, Apex Nightmare doesn’t look much, and every upgrade looks kind of the same. However, upon closer inspection, you can see the meticulous detail in every part of Revenant’s simulacrum body in every tier.
4. Apex Lycanthrope [Loba]
- Release Date: December 5, 2023
- Season: 19
- Event: Uprising Collection Event
Apex Lycanthrope’s tier transition is one of our favorites. The tier 1 skin starts with a basic red and black-themed skin. In the next one, Loba receives a half-lycan helmet with a white and red suit. In the final tier, Loba’s suit turns white with a full futuristic Lycan helmet that makes her look like a boss character from a Power Ranger series. Although it isn’t the swimsuit everyone wants to see, it is still nice.
5. Apex Interceptor [Valkyrie]
- Release Date: July 25, 2023
- Season: 17
- Event: Neon Network Collection Event
Apex Interceptor may be the most purchased Prestige skin in the game. Whenever you enter a BR match, you’ll find at least one person jumping with the special yellow dive trail. Despite being sold most, the Apex Interceptor skin does not really offer much. Apart from the unique helmet, all three tiers look almost the same, which is kind of a letdown. In any case, the tier 3 version of the Prestige is really sick and one of our personal favorites.
6. Apex Riptide [Octane]
- Release Date: April 23, 2024
- Season: 21
- Event: Urban Assault Collection Event
To be honest, the tier 1 skin in Apex Riptide looks better than the tier 2 and 3 upgrades. The skins, in general, are well-designed. But we think they lack personality. Octane has always been an adrenaline junkie, and all of his skins are related to speed. However, Apex Riptide fails to establish that. The only reason why we are putting it before Bloohound’s Prestige skin is because of the finisher, which may arguably be the best Prestige skin finisher in the game.
7. Apex Hunter [Bloodhound]
- Release Date: February 15, 2022
- Season: 12
- Event: 3rd Anniversary Collection Event
When Respawn first introduced Apex Hunter Prestige, the community went crazy. Besides Loba’s Prestige, Apex Hunter is the only one that offers a cool color transition from tier 1 to 3. However, that’s really it. Despite having a cool tier 3 upgrade, the first two tiers of the skins look pretty ordinary, even compared to some of the average-looking Legendary Bloodhound skins.
8. Apex Commander [Bangalore]
- Release Date: July 19, 2022
- Season: 13
- Event: Gaiden Thematic Event
If we consider the premium price we must pay to obtain a Prestige skin, the Apex Commander does not justify it. Unlike other Prestige skins, it failed to entice players. You can compare the new Prestige skins with Bangalore’s and judge for yourself why this is the case. As a result, you won’t find many players running with this skin-equipped. However, it was Apex’s second Prestige skin, so we should cut some slack.
