One of League of Legends‘ key selling points is its Ranked mode. It’s a mode in which users can compete and put their abilities to the test against other players. This sort of competitiveness motivates many players to play and keep playing the game. Whether to reach the highest rank possible, AKA Challenger, or play for the rewards, there’s no denying that players like to play Ranked.
So, to bring the players more Ranked and more rewards for playing Ranked, Riot, earlier in Season 13, implemented a new ranked system. Riot separated The ranked season into two sections: Split 1 and Split 2. Following each Split, each player’s rank is gently reset, and they are awarded incentives based on their rank.
That said, with Season 13 Ranked Split 2 ending soon, the question arises: When does Season 14 Ranked Split 1 start?

When Does Season 14 Ranked Start?
In a recent Dev Blog, Riot announced some massive changes to the current rank system along with the starting date for Split 1 of Season 14.
To begin with, Riot is extending the current ranked split, also known as Season 13 Split 2, by one and a half months. Due to the removal of Preseason, Season 13 Split 2 now finishes on January 3, 2024, rather than the normal November 20, 2023.
In addition, Riot will also be dividing the 2024 Ranked Season into the splits: Split 1, Split 2, and Split 3. Split 1 of Season 14 will begin on January 9, 2024; Split 2 will start in May; and Split 3 in September.
